Blower Motor-Low and Medium only
I have replaced the switch behind the ac/heat control panel and still no high. Any suggestions?
I know there is a resistor in the blower motor harness under the hood, does any one know the value? Thanks in advance!

Re: Blower Motor-Low and Medium only
I think I read that the resistor handles the lower speeds only, so that wouldn't be the issue. Have you tried swapping out the relay? It's under the hood as well.

Is it necessary to pull the neg. battery cable to replace the relay?

Swap N’ Shop
The fastest way to check the relay is to swap it with a new one.
However if you’re on a budget, apply 12 volts (throw a 1 amp fuse in line for safety) to pin D orange wire.
Does the relay click?
You can keep the car off while you’re testing.
(Wire colors are subject to change year to year.)

Thank you James! I cut and pasted all the tests and pictures for the "idiot" plug. Will let you know what I find.

OK, my grey connector is not melted but the black connector looks like this. I copied this from another post. My grey connector (where this shows two red wires connected looks good). Should the burnt black connector look this way?

Ahaa! After further inspection the inside of the grey connector is BURNT. Will post the results in a few!
Re: Blower Motor-Low and Medium only
Wire nut... It's probably not related to your problem, but I'd eliminate that wire nut. A length of heat shrink tubing, some solder, and an iron would clean that up in a hurry.

Re: Blower Motor-Low and Medium only
Ok, took longer to update my cell phone software than to fix the bad connector! Thank you James for your knowledge and your built in search engine! That was the exact fix! I'm posting a couple of pics from my cell phone. Be sure you take your grey connector apart to check for damage! This website ROCKS! I'm having trouble posting my pics. I'll try again later.

The wire nut was from a post in 2007.

Ok, see if I can post a couple of pictures of the culprit connector![ATTACH]

Here are two pictures of the BAD GREY connector! If you have a blower motor that will NOT come on on high, check this grey connector, it is more than likely fried!
Once again, THANKS TO JamesC guru of Third Gen.

Re: Blower Motor-Low and Medium only
James, you seem to know your stuff, my 1991 RS has a burn smell and a little smoke from heater / a/c selector switches and even when top on is in off position, fan will still blow, and it blows out defrost vents, when on vent position, please help, can you replace the whole switch assembly, what is the cure ol' wise one!!!
