Re: Unknown electrical connector
There was originally a bracket between the brake booster and the driver side fender, held on with 2 10mm screws into the firewall. This bracket held the fuel pump relay, the fan relay, and a IF I remember right, the Electronic Spark Module for the computer controlled dist. The bracket held the two relays kind of on the inside, the ESM was on the outerside - that looks loike the plug for that ESM.

Yep, great description. And sometimes known as the ESC for electronic spark control. Uses the info from the knock sensor to control ignition advance or retard as needed I believe. If your car was originally a 305, you would need a different one for the 350. Sounds like the PO didn't finish the conversion too well

Re: Unknown electrical connector
So you no longer need that connector since went carb. I fact, you can eliminate all the pass side wiring and harness. Some folks take out the entire harness in one piece, I left mine in tact, and simply tucked it deep in the fenderwell. It provides me with alot of wires that run from inside car to outside car, without me having to make or seal up more holes. I've used them for manual fan on wiring, manual TC lockup, fog lights, and several other things. I just pic a wire color under pass side dash, and find it in the fenderwell, double test for continuity, and viola! I have a wire already safely in place to tap into

Re: Unknown electrical connector
95% of driver side harness wires are necessary - these are wires for fusebox, lights, alt, batt, and guages. All of the pass side harness wires can go. I did cut most of the connectors off my wires, and then just tucked them in the fenderwell. I also removed my ECM and set it on fire!

Wow, you guys are so lucky not to have to live with California smog rules. You can hardly take anything off of your car unless you want to put it all back on every other year! AAHHHHH!!!
