Battery Drain Dilemma
I need some help here. Got an 85 Berlinetta 2.8 with a slow battery drain. NINA - I followed your directions found on other similar posts. Put an ammeter in series across the neg terminal - with everything off, doors closed, etc something is drawing about an amp of current. I pulled every fuse from the fuse block but no drop in current. What am I missing? Where to look next. By the way - had the alternator checked, I have an open diode, but even with the alternator disconnected, I'm still drawing. Any thoughts out there?

Put ear against hump in trunk and listen to see if the fuel pump is running with key out. I know on the V8 cars, the oil pressure sending unit can go bad and make the fuel pump run always regardless of the key.

Thanks. I've got to put this project off 'til tomorrow am. I don't hear anything from the front, but will look into your idea. Thanks again.

Re: Battery Drain Dilemma
Ok. I figured it out. While listening for a run on fuel pump, I noticed the trunk light was on - hadn't noticed it before. Went back to square one, determined that the accy fuse was the draw source, turned OFF the trunk light that had somehow been turned ON. Problem solved. I'm almost too embarrassed to admit how simple it was, but I guess the simple solution is usually the right one.
