Illogical wiring problem

So recently, my 85 TPI has been overheating and I couldn't figure out why. I took it in to a TPI shop to properly diagnose it and so we let it run for about 15 minutes and we noticed my dual electric fans were off. Now, this may seem normal except for the fact that the fan is directly wired to a red wire under the dash to be on all the time that the key is turned. The previous owner did this at some point and I never bothered to re-hookup the relay and whatnot. But this is where it gets really weird. We checked all the wiring of the fan to that underdash wire and reslpiced some shoddy connections and thought we had it going great. Well I've been driving it all weekend and now twice today when I pulled back into my driveway, I go to put the windows up, and they go for maybe a second and then just stop. Neither window will move and also my stupid fans are turned off. I can get them working again if I turn off the ignition for a few minutes, then when I turn the key back on, my fans start up and my windows go right up. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix it? I really don't like pulling into my driveway with coolant boiling out of the reservoir. And I don't think it's the ignition switch because wouldn't that make the engine stop?

It sounds like the PO connected the fan to the window circuit breaker.

Restore the fan wiring to the original way.

Connect the fan lead to the fan relay.

Re: That’s Highly Illogical Captain

I figured out a faster fix for now, I just took the fan wire off the window circuit wire, spliced one of those flat male connectors on it, and stuck it in that extra accessory location on the fuse block. Works like a charm. Eventually I'll get the relay properly hooked up again I just don't have the time for it right now.
For future reference, where are the sensor location and all the wires that need to hook up to the relay?

The fan relay is the one nearest the brake booster.

The Coolant Temperature Sensor is on the right side of the engine between plugs 6 & 8.
