Hey guys i'm in need of some dire help. I recently swapped my stock 305 TPI in my 86 IROC for a 355 carb, and now my volt gauge reads very low voltage. It usually was running perfect at 13 volts, but now everytime i run it, it wont go above 8 volts, and when i drive the car around, the volts get lower and lower and all the lights in the interior as well as all the outside lights get extremely dim as well, thus eventually making the battery go dead and i have to recharge it when its in the garage. For some reason the alternator will not charge the battery back up and i went to the local o'reilly's to test the alt and it passed with flying colors...Any ideas???? HELP!!!!!!

 

I had this same problem when I changed my tbi to carburated setup you have to be sure you have the right altenator the best way to be sure is to just order a one wire hook up or maybe find a kit to swap your current over to a one wire hook up that's how I fixed mine and it's worked perfect every since

Summit or jegs should have one but worst case scenario buy a new 1 wire hook altenator and you will definitly be good to go
