Hatch area wires??

Wondering what these plugs are for. On group has two plugs. Orane wire coming into it with a white wire going into a second plug which in turn has a ground wire. Another plug has a pink and white wire, white, and brown and white along with a ground wire. They are currently not hooked to anything and was wondering what they are for

Can you post pics of the wires for further clarification?

I don't know how to. The wire are all by the hatch release. Looks like at one point in time they pluged into somthing. But I don't know what

You could at least provide what year and model car.
Regardless, it's not uncommon for harness plugs/wiring to exist where options were never added. Could be for a hatch light or pull down motor that was never installed.

The orange, white & black group would most likely be for a hatch light the car never got. The pink/white would probably be for a hatch pull down motor. The rest may be for power hatch release if your car isn't equipped with it. That's the best guesses I have.

The lights make sence. I am sure they were there at one point of time. PO took out a lot of trim and stuff. The hatch pull down? Did they have that in 85. I do have poer release. It works

Re: Hatch area wires??

The pull-down wasn't around until 86... I really wouldn't want to guess what exactly they're for without a pic... Generally Orange is 12v constant, White is the domelight circuit, and Black is a ground. If the white wire is grounded anywhere in the car all the courtesy lights will come on. Orange is usually used as a power wire for those lights. There's a pretty good chance they're for a trunk compartment light.
