Coolant fan wont turn on.

Ok guys. I need help here. Here is a picture of my wiring diagram below. I had it connected wrong. Instead of having the 335 wire (DarkGreen/White wire) connected to ECM Terminal C1, it was grounded to the frame. So when I would turn on the key, the fan would turn on immediately. So today I disconnected the ground wire from the coolant relay and connected it to the DarkGreen/White wire. This DarkGreen/White wire grounds its self when a certain temperature is reached, which ultimately closes the circuit and turns on the fan. Well that didnt happen. I connected everything like how it is displayed in the wiring diagram and the fan wouldnt turn on. So i jumped the "ECM" wire to ground (using a wire with 2 alligator clips) and the fan turned on. Its obvious that the ECM is not grounding the fans ground. The ECM is a Reman from Autozone (6 months old), I have a custom burnt EPROM with the "fan turn on" set at 190* and turn off at 183*OOHH. and the engine temp reached 200* and the fan still wouldnt turn on. Im planning to do a continuety test from the ECM C1 terminal and all the way down to the other end near the Coolant fan relay. Is there anything else that I should test guys before I go out and buy a new Coolant Temperature Sensor?

CORRECTION!!!!
I spoke with the TGO member who programmed my EPROM earlier. I was wrong about the fan turn on temperature. The programmed setting is set to turn on at 190* and turn off at 183* .

How do u know your temp was 200 ??? The gauge might be off !!!!!
first check the temp from gauge with a laser gun thermometer !!!
Thats what i would do .

Good call! Ima have to buy a 9 volt battery tomorrow. When shooting for a reading, Should I shoot the lazer at the area surrounding the Temp Sensor?

i would use the thermostad housing ..at the temp sender i think its to close to the exhaust !!!
or where the return line goes to the radiator ..( FROM THE ENGINE )

opps. i didnt mean the temp sender in the heads/headers. I mean the temp sensor that is just below the throttlebody, infront of the intake manifold base.

You can test the CTS for correct operation with a DVM
185 Ohms @ 210F,
3400 Ohms @ 68F,
7,500 Ohms @ 39 F.

Re: Coolant fan wont turn on.

Guess what guys!According to my temp gauge, the IROC reads 200*. Well today I let the engine idle until all of a sudden the fan kicked on. I zapped the thermostat with a laser thermometer and the temp was 191*. So I thought there was a problem in the wiring the whole time or the ECM when the problem was the temp gauge. Hell, its 20* off. I thought it was 200 when the coolant was actually 180*. Dumb temp gauge. Thats another fan issue resolved for the books. Thanks for all the info and help guys. .
