Exhaust cutout button! HELP

So I've always wanted exhaust cutouts and summit finally put theirs on sale (you should go get some right now) so I got them. I thought it would be cool to buy the hurst t-handle shifter with the button on the side to operate the cutouts. The only problem is... the cutouts come with a toggle switch (like up is open down is closed) and the t-handle is a "momentary switch" (like you push it and their open, let off and their closed) I don't know what type of system I would need to make it where I push the botton and they're open. I can... wave at people, thumb wrestle, pick my nose, whatever! The point is I don't want to sit there holding the button to keep them open. I wan't push to open, push to close. Is there a relay I need? Some kind of circuit? I'm not really good with electronics or wiring nomenclature. Please

You need some way of reversing the direction of the motor on the cut out ; a push button of any kind is not going to work.

Seeing you don't want to have your finger on a button all the time , why do you want the switch on the shifter anyway???? Mount it on console ; problem solved

Re: Exhaust cutout button! HELP

Use a 2-way rocker switch that will fit in the shifter handle. It'll work like a window switch, reversing the power out to the cutout.

Re: Exhaust cutout button! HELP

but wouldnt the button on the side be needed to select the gear anyways?

*nevermind, saw it was a manual.

See I would do that but I don't actually have the handle yet. I don't want to buy it and have it turn out that the button doesn't come out. Does anyone have this handle they use for a line lock or anything?

Re: Exhaust cutout button! HELP

The set screws rattle out. So I took them out and crimped them. They are soo small though. They eventually got stripped out. So I had to drill out and thru the component and use a bolt. Then the motor bolts stripped out and the motor spun in the housing and ripped the wires off. So I had to tap the mounting holes for bigger bolts to hold it on. Thats good now. But the wire connections inside are bad, they broke loose from a different spot. HAd to take it apart and solder it. And the butterfly doesnt seal completely after awhile, letting exhaust go through. Giving an exhaust leak. And now it is off my car again for rattling that I cant figure out why!
