Wipers won't stop
Wipers won't stop
I just bought a 83 Firebird S/E and the wipers wouldn't work when I bought it. I figured it just needed a new motor but on closer inspection, I found that the motor was unplugged. When I plugged it back in, the wipers came on and will not stop running.
Any opinions on what I need to do to fix this problem?

It’s the park mechanism or a bad switch.
Disconnect the wiper motor module connectors C1 & C2.
Have the wiper switch in the OFF position.
Have the key in the ACC position.
Measure voltage on C2a.
Measure voltage on C1b.
They need to be zero.
If you have voltage there the switch is bad, or a wire is shorted to a voltage source.
