multiple wiring issues under dash
I've had problems with this cars wiring a lot. First was under the Hood, then the fuel pump (still problems), and now under the dash. I believe at one it was carbed. I am trying to get it all back to normal. I dropped in a 305 tbi which is what the car originally had.

On this one I need to know where the small yellow wire goes. Also the large green wire had three green wires that were ran to it.

ok - the 1st pic - ignore that - tuck it away. It is a connector for GM service techs to connect a remote starter button when they are under the hood.
3rd pic - that is your starter enable relay. Small yellow gets power from ignition switch (not the key cylinder, but the actual switch). Large yellow gets power from ignition switch also. Black with yellow stripe gets ground from VATS module when it gets the right resistor. Large green wire runs to Neutral safety switch.
You turn on key, small yellow wire gets 12v+ from ignition switch, and black/yellow gets ground from VATS. This activates that relay, sending 12v+ from large yellow wire out on large green wire to the NSS. If NSS is in PARK or NEUTRAL, then that 12v+ runs from large green wire to large purple wire, which connects to starter.
The smaller green wires, I'm not 100% sure on those, so I won't speculate - but they run to something that needs 12v+ only when key is turned to start, or they run to something that should have ground only when key is off.

Thanks a ton. I think I just need you to come to my place for the weekend and get this thing running properly.

Re: multiple wiring issues under dash
As many problems as I've had with my starting system and wires, I now know way more about it than I've ever wanted to. And yet, I still have an issue
But I finally figured out my problem after 4 years of off and on screwing with it! For me, I have a bad connector on the NSS - I finally tracked it down today! Its been replaced once by a PO, but the connector just doesn't like fitting with the switch - it wobbles around, making the connection weak between the large green wire and the purple starter wire.
Nothing I can do about it today, but at least I know what it is now!
I'd love to come for {cough} the weekend. But it would take me the whole weekend to get there from here. So then I'd have to stay the whole week - that could be bad. Your kids would want me to play with them, your dog would want me to walk it, and your wife wouldn't be able to keep her hands off me - and we'd get nothing accomplished!
So I better stay here, and help best I can from a safe distance!

Oh - I still haven't figured out what the relay in the second pic is for. Trace those wires by sight as best as you can and let me know where they go. The blue has been cut, as well as the white, and looks like someone taped the black to the blue? Weird.
Might have something to do with the manual tranny - I'm an auto tranny, so I haven't a clue on the manual tranny stuff. But I'll hunt the diags and see what I can find.

Man that sucks but its good you tracked it down finally. Yea it had only two wires connected and I don't see one on the other Camaro. It looks like they added it and one point. All the wires were soldered to existing wires.

Hey the first pic. I jumped those together and turned the key. The car fired right up and has ran perfect for the last 5 minutes.
