Re. Burned up Fuse links Starter/ Alt.wires

My fuse links by the starter burned up the other day and the electrical system on the car died- at the same time the right rubber brake hose gave out and the brake peddle went to the floor at a stop light. It has an old viper alarm system left over I'm pulling out just in case- any comments ? I'm checking Hawks for a replacement alternator and positive battery cable and wire.

Why pay Hawks extra for a part that you have an abundant local supply of? Any Autozone/Advance/Oreilly's/NAPA/CarQuest alternator is fine. They will also have a battery cable, and just about everything else you need. And if not, they can special order it, have it in 48 hours, and a way less expense that Hawks, Jegs, Summit, etc.
