Stone dead car, no lights nothing

My battery was to old and didnt want to start. Got ticking from the starter. Tried charging, but didn't get enough juice in it. Got a new battery. Heard a small spark when connecting the +. Then tried to start the car but it was stone dead.

Checked the fuses under the steering column and replaced most of them even if they looked ok. Still nothing.

Is there any main fuse some other place than under the steering column. Anything else i could check?

***FIXED***

***PROBLEM SOLVED***

Check all the grounds. If they are ok it may be the starter switch on on the steering column.

Re: Stone dead car, no lights nothing

If new battery means still no lights ... that has nothing to do with the ignition switch in the column - he has another issue somewhere - maybe a toasted fusible link.

Dose everything else in the car still work just not the starter? If so the fusible links that go to the starter must of popped.

Re: Stone dead car, no lights nothing

Nothing works in the car. Not a single LED any sign of life.

Before i changed the battery LEDs came on, duzzing sound from no seat belt, bet it was to low on power and only made clicking sound from the starter after charging it.

The ground to the fender is checked.

Is there a main fuse? The biggest ones i found were only 30A under the steering wheel.

Make sure you didn't connect the battery backwards.

Re: Stone dead car, no lights nothing

Was the cable. It had a connection to fit standard battery to get more juice, but it was dodgy. Unhooked the battery cable from the frame to get longer cable and made a new connection.

Started straight away, after one year it had no smoke and even smelld great. Ran evenly and sounded beautifully.

THX everybody :-D
