DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
Would it be a problem to connect the Green/White wires together on a duall fan set up and hook it to a single toggle switch? Both relays are near each other on the passenger front. Currently I am running a single toggle for one fan and have it connected to (C1) on the ECM for (Cooling fan output). I am not sure if I need to install a thicker wire to attach these 2 relays together or not. One relay would then be triggering the other. I know I could hook up a toggle to each but this is in a race car so no need to control each seperatly.

Re: DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
So, are you controlling your fans by the toggle switch going to the relays? If you wire the relays together your switch will control both, not just one.
Why not use two separate relays and then use a three position toggle switch, off, one on,then two on?

Re: DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
I do have 2 relays already, stock duall fan set up (88 GTA). I do not want to run any additional wires through the fire wall and am unsure which wire at the ECM would engage the second fan. Would prefere to run as little wire as possible (save weight lol). The sensor in the passenger head is broken and the wire has been cut off and sealed. Hence the toggle switch. Running a 160 T/State and need the fans to come on WAY before the ECM would tell them to anyways. A/C is inop and will be pulled out in 2 weeks to shave weight. Both of the cooling fan relays have the Exact same color wires running to and from.

Re: DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
He, he......ya know, I read your post completely opposite. Seeing that there's "no need" to control each fan separately forget my last comments.
I have a somewhat similar setup in my car, except I used only one relay. I use a toggle switch also. My two fans are wired together with a larger gauge wire going to the one relay, just to make sure there's no overload. It's nice to be able to run the fans, and electric water pump at the track while the car is sitting in the staging lanes.
I haven't had a problem and it's been that way for 8 yrs now. Hope this helps.....

Re: DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
Yes it did thank you! What kind of water pump are you running? Could it be used for street use?
Re: DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
Running both fans off one trigger (toggle switch and/or thermal switch) is just fine
Just dont run them continuous or the fans will burn out quickly

Re: DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
I have it wired to my ignition so I don't have to remember to turn it on. Once you get one, you'll never go back to a factory pump!

Re: DUALL FAN SINGLE WIRE TRIGGER
Thats awesome! My 85 TA is a daily driver with some track use as well. I have never even considered an electric one before now. 55gpm is a LOT of flow. I ditched the Single fan set up a year ago in the 85. I Wanted to keep everything GM so I am running a pair of fans I pulled from a 2001 Olds Intrigue (tried a pair from a 2000 Old Aurora and they are too wide). These bolt right to the radiator and are the S style blades. I run both of mine continuously but figure with newer fans and updated style they should run a long time worry free. In the 85 because it is a daily driver I have it controlled via 2 relays and 2 toggle switches. Never need to engage the 2nd one in the winter. The 88 is a Rally car I have been helping a friend with. Completed the wiring last night and both fans work in harmony. He is running a stock chip with a 160 T/S. And was over heating (simply because it was too late by the time the fans were called) Instead of spending a bunch of money for a new chip, and thermo switch figured the toggle was the best way to go for him. Thanks for the help!
