Please help me solve a couple of wiring issues!

Ok I took the dash out of my car to do some work on it. I put it back and there's one single red wire that comes out of the harness where the highbeam switch and brake light switch come out. i don't remember where it goes. I put the gauge cluster in and none of them move, but the dummy lights work. Also, the door/light chime is making a steady, faint beep that goes to a steady beep for about 3 seconds when I touch the right side connector to the gauges, then goes back to a steady, faint beep. i can make it stop totally when i turn the light switch ON. Also, now the car will start, but not stay running. I would first of all like some help with the red wire which i think may be the main problem. It's a medium gauge, solid red wire with a gray connector, female blade type. Please and thank you.
