if your not getting a blinking SECURITY light can it still in anyway be VATS??? i dont think my injectors are firing... I tried for two days to start my car and it wouldnt so i tried the other set of keys and it started now the set of keys is doing the same thing

 

It shouldnt be vats is the light goes out and stays out.
Goto the other thread you posted and and see my last reply to him also.

ok a list of everything new on the car...fuel pump,TPS,fuel pressure regulator,I got a used set of injectors off ebay and the same thing... i have spark and a new cap, rotor and ICM..didnt do or really know how the injector pulse but i do have fuel at the rail its at 42psi.... the car has a mind of its own runs when it whats to run but when it really dont what to start is after i drive it before i was looking into vats i was think it was something with the heat but it wouldnt start the other day so i tried the other set of keys i had and it started right up.. but now the set is doing the same thing... i pick the car up like a year and a half ago knowing something was wrong with it and i or know one car figure it out...the car only has 40000 miles on it. i think the miles are low cuz of the problem...

 

When you use a test light, you put it across the injector terminals? IE - unplugged the injector, connect wires/light to plug , cranked the motor, see the light pulse?
Or goto auto parts store and get a free loaner tool. a noid light set. Just unplug the injector and plug this noid light in. crank it watch for the little light to blink as cranked.

Next test:
With the ignition on (not running/cranking) test between one terminal of the injector pig tail and ground. One of the terminals (test both) should indicate 12v.

If not, you've got a current supply problem - probably EFI fuse.

If you have 12v, you have a trigger problem, probably ignition related. Start with the distributor pick up. module , etc..

one thing is when i changed the Ignition Control Module i took it out for a little drive and it was really fast... alot more power then its had since i got the car and after i parked it. it wouldnt start up for a day and i got it started today and took it out and the power isnt there again..

 

ok no auto part store around me rents a light test pulse thing.. so im gonna have to buy one.. one thing i did find today is a bad fuse.. its behind the passenger side headlight. i put in a new one and the power antenna went up and the stereo came on with out the keys being in the car...?? the car will start every now and then but not like the day i changed the ICM.. the thing that under the rotor is a little rusty but im not sure if that will hurt any..

 

I changed ICM, Coil and Pick up Coil and its still the same... Should have got a MUSTANG!!!!!!!!

 

mustangs have the same problems. Ive had one. lol.

Can't just toss parts at a car blind. Thats a deff. way to rack up a ton of $$ and be fustrated when none of it works.

When your cranking does it even seem like it wants to fire?

 

i see mustangs on the road i dont see IROC much... it will start but its random.. think its time to part ways.. Anyone in PA. looking 89 IROC-Z 5.7 41000 Miles 1500 takes it...
