Need help removing an old alarm

Hi all,

An aftermarket alarm has been on my car since I bought it ten years ago, and I've hated it. I'm trying to remove it and have all the wires traced but need help on two wires:

There's a red wire from the alarm that is spliced into a larger gauge yellow wire (see pic #1 please). It appears the other half of the yellow wire is spliced with a black ground wire (also in pic #1). Should I just remove the two spliced wires and re-connect the yellow wire? What is the yellow wire?

Second there is a aqua color wire that comes off the alarm that runs to a blue wire, which then runs into the center console area (see pic #2). I cant find what the blue wire would normally connect to... any ideas?

Thank you
Chuck

The Yellow wire is for the starter. Yes, just reconnect the two yellow's. The blue wire "may" be going to the switch for the hatch release.
