After I installed my new radio, none of my gauge illumination lights come on when I turn my headlights on its pitch black only my turn signals and warning lights come on and the fuses are all good

Any chance you inadvertently dimmed the gauge lights?

We assume you meant the INST LPS fuse.

If the “parking” lamps illuminate, your problem is a bad connection FROM the switch internals where the connection is made to the potentiometer TO the input side of the aforementioned fuse.

Using a voltmeter or test light
(the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe the green wire at the headlight switch when the “parking” lights are on.

Is there power there?

Re: gauge illumination issue

So I found out I'm an idiot and missed the gray "illumination" wire that was stripped and sitting off to the side in my radio pod for some reason. What could that've shorted out?...

If you have no power on even one side of the fuse your problem is a bad connection from the green wire at the switch to the input side of the aforementioned fuse.

For example, a broken or disconnected wire.

Does the gray illumination wire HAVE to be connected for the dash lights to work? My pioneer doesn't have an illumination wire
