I need some help I am trying to remove all wire that i do not need that wont impede daily drivability. My engine is carbed and therefore does not use the computer in the dash. any ideas on which wire i can remove? I might just take out the cluster and make my own, so then id have to find the wires that control the fuel gauge and connect it to an after market one. I currently have aftermarket oil, temp and tach gauges.

ps i have the dash completely out

any diagrams on what each wire does would be a great help.

Your best bet IMO would be to head to your local parts store and buy a manual. I am sure someone on this forum will help you but it is very helpful to have the wiring diagram in front of you.

 

Autozone.com has wiring diagrams for free.

i removed all that i could can everything still works except i lost my dash lights haha but atleast the wiring harness is alot smaller and no computer anymore
plan to fix it eventually now working on fitting c6 18s and 19s on it now

 

I need the wiring for the heater fan control switch in my 89 camaro. Neither library, autozone, anywhere has this part of the wiring. I need to know where the brown wire with the white stripe goes. I know it should be switched.

 

Autozone.com 1989 body wiring clearly shows the diagram. It does not show a brown/white wire but does show brown wire to fan switch and brown wire from fuse panel.All third gen appear to be the same.
