Hatch motor rebuild! Help!

Ok, first off I bought the hatch motor rebuild kit from Hawk awhile back. I rebuild the motor according to the directions now when I close the hatch the motor will not pull the hatch down! The motor is not making any noise but I can feel it getting hot. Can anyone give me an idea as to what is going wrong with it!

Yes. You need to sand the guides to fit your track channels. It MUST be a free sliding fit. Assemble just the outer two guides onto the latch portion and test how easily is slides in the channels. By hand slide the latch portion up and down quickly 10 times, then disasseble and examine the guides. If you see dark lines that indicates where you need to sand them down further. Repeat this process until you have them sliding easily without leaving any dark spots or lines. Now assemble just the inner two guides and repeat the same cycle until you get those sliding freely too. Now you are ready to lube the channels and assemble the pull-down unit. It should travel the entire stroke easily without the motor slowing down. Remember it is very inportant that you hear the CLICK at the end of the up or down cycle which is the sound of the reversing switch being tripped to end the cycle. If the motor stalls out before it has tripped the reversing switch it will get hot and your motor can be damaged.
