brown alternator wire

brown alternator wire

i bought a new alternator and its not charging there are two small wires near my alternator a green wire and a brown wire im not sure what the green wire does but i think the brown wire is the exciter? can someone tell me where to hook this wire up on the alternator?

i know this is old, but they should hook up to a connector that plugs in the alternator. the brown is most likey an exciter wire that runs into the cabin and the green im not sure it either runs to ecm or starter.

Bingo. Brown wire goes to the drivers side header plug, I believe it is C100. Brown wire gives the signal for the alternator to start charging/turn on.
