Question regarding the headlight switch / Trip Meter
Hi guys , I have a couple of questions . Hopefully simple . I have a 1992 5.0 L RS . My Odometer and Trip Suddenly stopped working . Any idea on the cause ? The RPM has been pegged for sometime so I decided to just switch out a Cluster from a 91 RS I had . (RPM pegged on that as well , as with most of these models) . Anyway during the switch I broke the little plastic piece that holds the Headlight switch in place . I also noticed that the pull switch itself would not go into the main switch easily so I went and stole the switch out of my 91 . After bolting it all back together I was holding the switch in place while I made sure the connectors were all tight and noticed it was very hot . I took it out , plugged the older switch in and same thing . So is it normal for this to get hot or is something not grounding ? I checked and did not find any wires disconnected other than what I think would be the harness for the factory fog lights (mine did not come with them). Headlights work fine High and low beams . Just curious so I don't have my lights go out during the night or have a fire .
Thanks for your help .
