automatic to T5 swap wiring help needed
automatic to T5 swap wiring help needed
I have a 91 Z28 with a 305 tpi, auto tranny. I am wanting to install a T5 from a donor car (92 RS 305 tbi). The plug for the automatic is a 4 prong and the standard has 2 prongs in the back for the speedometer and 2 on the side. What wiring modifications and/or ECM will I have to make without having to butcher the harness ?
Thanks in advance.

Ultimately your should have a manual tune for your ECM
You don't use the wiring from the auto plug ( is for the TCC )
You need to extend the back up switch wiring from the 6 wire switch at base of the auto shifter through the floor down to the reverse switch on the T5 ,
The P/N wiring from the shifter switch needs extending to the neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal.
The 2 remaining wires at the switch (org and blk ) get taped up and made safe

Re: automatic to T5 swap wiring help needed
Thanks for the response. Sounds fairly simple.
So to be clear, I don't need or have to use the 4 prong plug. I just need to use the wiring from the neutral switch to the clutch petal?
