1988 Firebird - Spoiler 3rd Brake Light

Hi all.

My '88 firebird spoiler brake light has simply stopped working. I pulled it apart and checked the globes and contacts but all is fine. I cannot see a separate fuse for this light or at least not a fuse that has blown.

So my question is who has this happened to also and how did you fix it?

Cheers,

Scruba

Light With No Purpose

The superfluous brake light (clown light) uses the same fuse as the normal brake lights use however it uses a separate contact on the brake light switch.

Using a fused jumper, jump the
yellow wire to the orange wire at the switch.

If the clown light comes on your problem is a defective switch.

If the clown light still does come on make sure there are no breaks in the run of the
yellow wire.

Did you clean the coontact pad on the interior trim panel just to the left of the pull-down unit? Also check that the contact pins on the hatch is there, clean and not bent.

Do you happen to know the replacement bulb # for the spoiler brake light, not for the camaro?
