CRuise control wiring delete

Hi 85 Camaro 305 carb 700r4
Just starting to work on removing emissions related wiring and cruise as well as it doesn't work and parts are all rusted and I don't need it.

It appears that a seperate wire grouping coming out of the firewall (about 3/4" round ans taped in my case was all cruise control related? and maybe something with the evap can which I removed a while ago, but don't remember.(I'm 60)

Where does the group of wires go to under the dash and is there any wires in there that I need to keep??

If not, what is the best and safest way to remove them
thanks guys-your great

OH, also-
1. what is the best way to remove the wire from the battery terminal positive, and the ALT BAT wire from the main emissions harness going to the fender area on the pass side? any ground or other wire I need to keep as well??
2. I haven't been under the dash yet in ecu area-(can't get the car out of garage right now and no room to work on sides) Wha is the easiest and best way to remove the wire blocks on the ecu, I've read there are 2 of them. Does the dash need to be diassembled somewhat to get at it?
sorry for the add in

Re: CRuise control wiring delete

sorry again, the one other issue at this 1st stage is I see a small harness, attached to that pass side emissions haraness going down to the trans it appears, is that just for a sensor I don't need on my 700r4 and can just unplug, or does this somehow have something to do with the speedometer, which although I've read about the issue am still confused as if this car has this methode of working the speedometer as opposed to a gear

Re: CRuise control wiring delete

Cruise was an option and can be removed easily. Find the grommet by the pedals and unplug the connectors and vacuum line. Push it back through. That's it

The rest you'll need to take a pic of

Was the car originally carved or EFI?

That is how the computer controls the lockup on your trans?

How do you expect the power to control the lockup in the trans to get there with no wires to the trans?
Depending how you do it,you are going to need at least one maybe two wires there.

Yes

Work out what way you are going to control the TCC with the computer gone ?
Could be a simple manual switch or fully auto operation with no input from you

Re: CRuise control wiring delete

I read that a while ago and have tentatively decided with my limited future city traffic driving (once a week or so to a nearby cruise night), I will not do the TCC thing, unless future use changes (or it burns out)

However, If you are familiar with the car and wiring, if you could comment on my other questions I'd appreciate a response, can't take pictures now

Otherwise, I think I'll post a new thread out of the cruise subject
thanks again, and how did you fit listing your 3 cars in the profile section?
