Fuel Pump Relay (No 12v)

So I am just about done with my v6/Auto to v8 (TPI)/Manual swap. I have a 92 Camaro and I installed a V8 from a 91 Z28 with 91 harness and CPU. The car cranks, but I don't hear the "buzzing" from the fuel pump.

I checked the "Orange" wire at the fuel pump relay(on the firewall next to brake booster) and I don't have 12v. At this point I'm not sure what to do???

That Orange wire ( PIN "A" on the relay ) should be 'hot' at all times; Check the in-line fuse near the battery.........

It would normally be screwed to the upper fender rail near the coolant overflow bottle. Since your harness was swapped it might be moved. The fuse should have a plastc "cap" or "cover" on it.

Re: Fuel Pump Relay (No 12v)

I searched high and low and can't find it. I practically pulled the whole harness out looking for it....any ideas?

Re: Fuel Pump Relay (No 12v)

uh...found em! They were cut and buried in the harness. 3 wires:
-Orange wire that goes into the fuel pump relay
-Orange & Black/red that goes to the coolant fan relay

Now, how to wire them back to health???

Re: Fuel Pump Relay (No 12v)

I NEED HELP!

I have looked at the wiring diagrams and I am unsure about the re-wire/repair. Could someone take a picture/explain the wiring from the harness to the relay of the 3 wires mentioned above and in the pic?

Thank you in advance

As John stated, the orange wire goes to the pump relay VIA the 20 amp fuse.

Just get that fuse to the battery.

If you’ve got a mess going on you can install a terminal block to the batt which will allow a new clean setup for the pump fuse and future mods.

The
orange wire for the Fan Relay pin E comes from a Fusible Link.

The
black wire with a “red” stripe (actually should be a pink stripe) goes from the relay pin A to the fan hot side.

Happy Racing !
