Help with Neutral Safety Switch?

Just the other day my car started to refuse to start in park, but I was able to start it in neutral. Now today its not even starting in neutral. What Ive seen from doing some research its more than likely the neutral safety switch. The other things I have read is that the shifter isnt calibrated for the NSS, or the ignition clip inside the steering column. But I dont know how to approach this fix. Is there anyway to test this without tearing apart the shifter/steering column? Plus I dont want to do the NSS bypass like some people have been doing. I just dont feel comfortable with that, plus dont like the realibility/safety issues that can arise with that. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Simple.
Temp jumper the NSS and see if it starts ; if it does NSS is the problem.
If it doesn't the Ign switch is suspect

The Ign switch is at base of column

It may be faulty or just out of adjustment
If it doesn't start the Ign switch is suspect.Use a DVM to see if you have 12V at the NSS when the key in START position
