Battery Has to be Reset
Battery Has to be Reset
I bought an 88 Iroc Z28 about a month ago. I bought it to fix up, but I wanted to get the engine started before I tear it down and rebuild it.
So when I got it home and unloaded it from the trailer, I went a bought a new battery because I knew what was in it was a dead battery.
First thing I noticed is they removed the Relay for one of the fans and hard wired it.
With the key in the ignition all of the power systems come alive. The power seat works and all of the electronics are working. Even that pesky hard wired fan is running. Windows go down and up and everything seems to be good.
The problem is when I turn the ignition switch to start the vehicle. The entire power system shuts down. Anything that was powered on before is now not working.
To be safe I go ahead and disconnect the battery.
When I reconnect the battery after a few minutes, the electrical system comes alive again. What would cause this type of issue?
Thanks,

Re: Battery Has to be Reset
I'd say a bad battery connection.try cleaning the battery connections.
