Alarm Help

I bought an 84 trans am off a family friend that has this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-TECHNE-UNGO-BOX-COMBINATION-NUMBER-CODE-LOCKING-Car-Alarm/251538944286?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222006%26algo%3DSIC.FITP%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D22853%26meid%3D7175359141597649680%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D9833%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D321215927629 techne tl-3000 car alarm installed in it. I think the connection on the press button to enter the code is shot as it will not accept the code anymore thus making the alarm go off making. I want to get it taken out but I cant drive it as is. Would I be able to cut the wiring from the alarm or will that act as a kill switch?
