Headlights pop up when hitting brakes.
I decided to write this after not seeing any solid info on how to fix this.
On my car (91 Firebird) the headlight doors pop up (but not light up) when pressing the brake pedal and go back down after I let off the brake. It does this regardless if the car is running or not. This is what I found resolves this.
As you will notice this fix requires that your fog lights must always be on when driving; which if you’re like me is no big deal compared to frantically popping headlights or the hassle of trying to find to the problem in your harness. If you for some reason you fail to turn on your fogs before starting or turn your headlights on before starting you will have to redo the steps.
This may or may not work for you exactly but may serve to give you a heading in the right direction. Different combinations may yield different results for different cars. If anyone else has experience with this issue feel free to share.

- Get in your car and DO NOT press the brake pedal then turn the key to ACC
- After in ACC, Press and hold the brake pedal (The headlight doors will pop up)
- While holding the brake down turn on the fog lights only (The headlight doors should go down)
- Take your foot off the brake and leave your fog lights on
- Turn the Key to off
- Make sure to turn off the fogs but only after the key is in the off position
- Before starting your car or turning to ACC you must always first turn your fog lights on first (Fogs only NOT fogs & headlights.)

In A Fog While Driving
First check all marker and turn signal bulbs to make sure they are the correct type, and installed correctly.
A common mistake is people installing 2 filament bulbs 180° rotated.
Some crazy symptoms have been reported doing that
To cure the problem of looking like grandma or Mr. Magoo driving around with fog lights on in beautiful weather, install a relay to turn off the unnecessary lights.
The relay is to be installed between the original relay and the fog lights.
No time to draw a schematic now, perhaps in the off season.
