Headlights and Tail-lights are OUT.

I recently needed to disconnect the passenger side flip up headlamp to fix a stress crack along the edge of the light housing. I disconnected the plug to the flip up motor but kept the electrical lamp wire connected. After doing my stress crack repair I then RE connected the plug to the flip up lamp motor and "It no longer works"
My headlamps no longer turn on OR flip up.
My rear lights no longer work either.
BUT the Brake Lights Work OK- and all 4 ways work OK. Also all Turn Indicators work. Its just the Headlamps and rear lights that are Not Working. Did I do something that could have caused this to happen.

Is it a bad dash switch-- Did I fry the switch by disconnecting only 1 lamp instead of both? All FUSES appear OK.

I'd check those fuses again. Test them with your multimeter. If you're positive on that, I'd recheck the wiring in the area you were working in.

It sounds like a possible ground issue. I know that the grounds for the headlights on a Camaro are on the passenger side by the battery. I'm guessing that they may be in the same place on the Firebirds as well?

The headlights are not on a fuse at the fuse block. They are connected by a fusible link instead. Check them and your grounds as mentioned before.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Well call me just Stupid or Plain Luckyits seems that the Headlight and Tail-light problem is FIXED--- all by itself. I had used a damp wash rag to clean around the Headlight Flip up Housing in preparation of possibly spraying the inside RED in color to match the car. Its black from the factory. I guess that I must ahve caused a temporary ground problem with the damp rag-- NOW that the area is dry- All Lights work Both Headlamps and rear tail lights. Guess I am just stupid. and lucky...
Still though- just the sight of the headlamps Flipped up exposes the dry and uneven look of the eyelids--- Still thinking of spraying them another color to make them look "finished" Did all the flip up lights on the FireBirds and Camaros have that dry and dull looking appearance on the Eye Lids of the Flipped Up Headlamps ?
