Convenience Center and Flasher location
Hey guys, been searching for visual aids for the location of the signal flasher and didn't find any, so I thought I'd help out and post some up for everyone else who may be looking for a quick reference. Signal flasher is the one with the red pigtail, hazard flasher is plugged into the board. Note: This is accurate on my 1987 GTA, I can't vouch for Camaros or even other model year Firebird lines, just my own.

Re: Convenience Center and Flasher location
Earlier this year, I had replaced the hazard relays and turn signal switch, and I could not get the door dinger (blue box) to stay in without the dash panel in place, as it would push the dinger out of the socket. After seeing these pics, I realize one of the previous owners must have flipped the whole convenience center upside down, because all of the relays in my car hang down instead of fitting up inside the dash. Glad I saw this, thanks!

The turn signal flasher in a Camaro is typically located above the Convenience Center, clipped to the dash support.

Re: Convenience Center and Flasher location
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I've searched high and low on the net and in these forums and while many says it's under the dash, seems for some it's on the passenger side others on the drivers side and I'd not found one clear picture or answer anywhere. I even searched my Chilton and Haynes manuals. Chilton was slightly better, it showed a diagram of the convenience center, but did not have the flasher there for my model year. It also did not explain where under the dash the convenience center or the flasher was located, just generically stated for all models that it was under the dash, not helpful. This was the first picture that clearly showed it's location on at least one vehicle.
PS
In my case I did not have to drop the convenience center, even though it's not actually on the flip down section of the center I was able to reach above and remove the clip that holds it in place and change it. GM did a number on us here. Every car I've ever owned had the flasher on the fuse panel and it was a 30 second job to replace. This convenient center should be called the inconvenient center!

Is the door dinger the same as key in ignition dinger? Mine don't ding! Hasn't dung for years...hmmmmm.

Re: Convenience Center and Flasher location
Can somebody please post a picture of their Camaro turn signal flasher location? I can't freakin' find it! Replaced the flasher in the convenience center and apparently that's just for the hazards (for which I have no button anyway). I really need to replace my turn signal flasher but I have no idea where it is visually mounted.

And yea , I had realized in the other post that it was in the convenience center that you changed the unit , and that was why I edited my post

Re: Convenience Center and Flasher location
I've got a 1988 camero. I bought it and the flashers work but the turn signals wouldn't. I put in a new turn signal switch due to the old one being loose, however I still dont have any turn signals. Anyone know why this maybe?

Read the previous post before yours. It explains it in detail. There are 2 flasher units, one for the hazards and one for turn signals. Sounds like your turn signal flasher is bad.
