VSS and Injector lead wires

Was just wondering how to identify these, since I'm installing a trip computer (MPGuino) and I need them both for the device, my speedometer broke (unfortunately the indicator broke off) so I was thinking I might as well replace it with the MPGuino for the time being to sort of have a semi-digital dash and an indication of how fast I'm actually going.

The small black socket with the little pin inside of it, would that be the VSS wire by any chance? And the injector leads go through the firewall near the brake pedal, right? How do I know what's an injector lead and what isn't?

Many thanks in advance!

Apparently '89 Camaro's did not have VSS? Mine has a speedometer cable, I know that much, but is it either/or? And how much trouble would it be to install a VSS regardless? Thinking about making my dash (almost) entirely digital.
