cruise control computer bypas
is there any way to wire up the cruise control to work not using the computer. my car currently has a non-cc carb and as far as i know if the CEL is on the cruise control wont work.
also what gear should the tcc engage or is it a specific speed, from stock. i am looking to install the tc-lockup switch again but want to know if that puts it anywere close to stock.

Does it matter if the cluster is digital? His description says it's an '84 Berlinetta.

The entire ECM & ECM harness can be removed from a Digital Berlinetta and the Speedometer and VSS Buffer will still work normally. In the Berlinetta the VSS Buffer gets it's ground from the same circuit as the Light Driver, Cig Lighter. Radio, and Audio Alarm.

Re: cruise control computer bypas
mine still has the ecm it just doesnt control the carb anymore so should my cc work then anyway even with the CEL on and the computer pluged in or should i still ground it, and will that affect other things. i want to keep the computer incase i find a ccc to put back in it. i recently swiched cars it still the same model just with the v8. my v6 had the ccc but some sensors were bad so it didnt do much but run rich. the v6 cc didnt work and i was told it was because the CEL was on, i havent gotten to test it with the new car i just thought it would be the same situation since i dont have a working ccc in either car.
by the way thanks for the replys. i really hope this will work

Even if you completely remove the ECM and harness - the CC and the VSS buffer still have ground - you don't need to ground anything - so nothing will be effected.
You were miss-informed. The only way the CEL could possibly/MAYBE effect the CC system is if there is a major VACUUM leak. The vacuum leak could cause a CEL AND cause the cruise not to work properly. There is no "electrical" interaction between the ECM and the CC other than indirectly ( by obtaining speed data from the same source; the VSS Buffer).
