Headlights

Lost my headlights at night about 2 weeks ago after filling up. I've replaced the switch and installed all new fuse links and terminals at the starter and still nothing. Any ideas on where I should go from here? Im an amateur lol

Re: Headlights

Relays? I was under the impression there weren't any for the headlight system and I dont see any in my wiring diagram. Where can I find them?

Re: Headlights

I replaced ALL of the fuse links at the starter. Could a bad dimmer switch cause the headlights to get no power?

Re: Headlights

Shouldnt (but I know birds better than camaros)..do your tail lights work? If your tail lights are out to when you turn the switch on, then it is the TAIL fuse.

does dimmer=hi/lo switch? if so, that could possibly be an issue.

Re: Headlights

My tail lights were not out and my dimmer didnt switch, it was always on hi. I laid down underneath the stearing column and started moving some wires around and messed with one of the metal rods going up the column and now my headlights work for some reason. When i pull on the turn signal lever it just kind of feels like a sponge and does nothing. What is the other rod for? I pulled on the bottom one closest to the floor.

I THINK ONE ROD IS FOR LIGHTS AND the OTHER IS FOR THE IGNITION. The ignition turns a cam which pushes a rod into the starter switch near the bottom of the column. I had to install a starter switch a few years ago and you have to adjust it or the car will not start so don't mess with it. It was a pain for me and left me stranded for an hour until I crawled under there and mashed it until the starter engaged.
