Pulse wiper pause position
Pulse wiper pause position
Car is parked for winter so I am tinkering with the little annoying things on it. I never drive in the rain if I can help it, but this just bothers me. When the wipers are in pulse mode, they pause very high on the windshield between strokes. They will go down just a tad first, then up and back to the same position. It seems like its the position of the arm on the motor. All of the rest of the functions are normal, the sweep and when it parks. I changed the motor and pulse board for another problem but the same issue persists. Is there an adjustment I am missing somewhere, or is this just how it is?
Re: Pulse wiper pause position
Not even a guess? The arm on the wiper motor pauses below horizontal, which is why I don't think it's any adjustment in the linkage or position of the arms on the mounts. When it comes up to horizontal (or parallel to the cowl) the wipers sweep down that little bit.

Re: Pulse wiper pause position
It's been a long time since I've even used the Wipers on my Berlinetta,..... so I can't really speak about how high they pause during the "intermitent" operation.
My question is this; how 'low' do the wipers sit when they are in PARK ?? Do the Wiper Blades sit on the wiper stop "rests" as they should ?? There is an adjustment ( 2 screws IIRC ) on the wiper transmission linkage to allow the wiper arms to be moved a little so they will sit properly on the "stops" when in park. If the arms sit on the 'stops' when in PARK then I wouldn't touch it - but if the arms sit a little high when in PARK then the adjustment should bring the PAUSE a bit lower after proper adjustment.

I'm well aware of the adjustment on the linkage. They sit on the stops. Adjusted to the point they raise the blades off the windshield a hair, which I assume is proper to prevent deforming the blades when staying in parked position for extended periods of time. They just seem too high to be right in pulse mode.

Re: Pulse wiper pause position
After my engine swap, I put the wiper module back in the car and I noticed this issue. It would never do this before. I have no idea what is causing it. Has anyone figured this out. I have played with all the adjustmentrs, but I can't get anything to fix this. I am about ready to order a replacement module to see if it works better.

Re: Pulse wiper pause position
Like I said above,I never took notice to it until Joe brought it up,I'm pretty sure that's normal
Re: Pulse wiper pause position
The fact he says it never did it before confirms I'm not nuts. Well, in this case anyhow. My car was parked for 6 years so I really couldn't remember if it did that before.

Re: Pulse wiper pause position
That's the thing, I am not so sure about that becasuse I could have sworn, it rested much lower.
