Wiring Harness For Power Mirrors?
1989 Formula Firebird.
It has manual mirrors. I've been wanting to upgrade to power for awhile. I have the mirrors; I have the switch, but I need the wiring harnesses.
Is there anywhere to get them new?
Thanks

Re: Wiring Harness For Power Mirrors?
New - probably not.
Wiring was a little different from car to car and the mirrors changed year to year and - depending on what mirrors you've got - they may or may not be compatible with the harness that IS a direct fit for your 89.
The correct 'plug-&-play' factory harness will come from a Firebird. Camaro mounted the power mirror switch on the door and Firebird had it mounted on the center console. ( Firebird = longer harness )
For connecting harnesses I think the year ranges were 82-85, 86-88, 89-92. In the early/mid years the system got power from the junction block under the dash,.... somewhere around 89 the junction block was removed and there was a power connector under the dash for most accessories.
For Mirrors I think the year range is 82-85, 86-92. ( White plug vs. Black plug.
I know that early/mid years often had the mirror wiring wrapped/loomed together from the factory with the window and door lock wiring..... later years probably had more "independent" wiring for these options.
Hope this helps in some way !!
