I have some serious problems need help ASAP

Ok here the car 89 Formula 350

Problem: when I turn my headlights on my tail lights, side markers, and front markers dont come on. The only time they do work is when I step on the brake the brake lights come on, and when I put the turn signals on they come on. other than that they dont work. I think I hvae read about this problem before and I rememberd that it was probably the INSTRU fuse thats in that seperate little black single fuse box. I checked that and the fuse (15) was still good. What else could it be? is it my rheostat>?

I need help with this as soon as possible as im driving to whyoming in the morning so I need it fixed TODAY

Im not sure what wires touched or even if they did. its bugging me. My tail lights dont work, my headlights turn on but wont go down ( they do go up though ) and my lights on teh front end next to the headlights dont work unless I use the blinker, same with the tail lights they dont come on unless I brake or use the blinker.

The brake lights & turn signals are on a different switch than your makrker lights & the headlights are directly powered from the starter (big red wire)

The fuse that supplies the juice to the rest of the lights is the TAIL fuse. It should be a 20A fuse. If the fuse is not busted, you may have a switch problem.

Thanks I was thinking it would be the switch rheostat. Ill check the inst lps fuse for power see what happens.

I agree with deadbird. I don't think your rheostat will have anything to do with your prob since it's used only for dash/inst. I'd be shooting your switch.
