Well a few things but i dont think they made be related.
for one my temperature gauge doesnt wanna work. and my fuel gauge doesnt really work either. Ive replaced the temp sensor and temp sending unit and nothing budges. also my car idles a little high sometimes and it diesels out when i turn it off. but i believe thats my TPS acting up
What color are the wires? I can't find a plug that resembles that one on that side of the motor. The temp sensor is a spade connector style, and I'm pretty sure it's unrelated to the fuel gauge.
I recall some cars came with a P/S pressure switch. The sensors output would tell the ECM to bump up the idle when the P/S system would load the engine.
