No power when key is turned
No power when key is turned
I was driving my 84Z28 and I stopped at a red light and it went dead. No power when the key is turned. Gauges don't move when the key is in the on position, but the clock is still ticking and the headlights still work. What could be the issue? I was thinking fusable link. But would that leave the clock and headlights working?

Re: No power when key is turned
check fusible links near starter there are a couple that feed the interior
Re: No power when key is turned
It looks like there are 2 fusible links connected to the starter and one is burned near the starter solenoid and I cannot seem to find the other end. I seen that there is a metal tube that the other non burned wire goes into but how do I get to the one that's burned to fix it?

most likely you'll have to take the starter out to get to the wire and rewire a new link in then put it thru the tube so it doesn't get burned again if u do take out starter unhook power so you dont melt anything
