Hey guys,

So forever the car would just turn parking and fog lights only when P was pressed. I noticed the other day that now my headlights are popping up. Additionally the right side motor keeps spinning and spinning and usually only lifts the light part way (this seems to coincide with the headlights coming up with the parking light activation). I get if my gear are stripped or bushings are shot, but how would that make the lights start coming up when parking lights are turned on? I replaced the switch too and that had no effect. Will replacing or fixing the actuator/motor fix the headlights popping up with the parking lights?

This happened on my old Formula, I fixed the gears and it solved all the problems. Hopefully its the same for you too, it was an easy fix.

 

I had the same problem with my 92, I put new bushings in and it fixed the problem.

 

That is somehow a "safety mode" or so... If one headlight motor goes bad (bushings & stuff), the headlight module senses that and both headlights will pop up even in park light position. Had to deal with that "problem" a few times, it's normal. Repair your headlight motor thats spinning happily and your problem will be fixed.

 

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Recently purchased a 91 GTA. Pass side headlight wouldn't come up. Fixed motor with new bushing kit. Now both lights come up when I turn parking light switch on..... ???

Yup this fixed it for me too.. Weird how that affects lights popping up from using the parking light switch....

 

No it didn't fix it. It Started do that After I repaired the bad motor.

 

Weird... check your otherside.. mine started doing this when one sides "pucks" disintegrated. When I fixed it it worked as normal.
