So I was performing some mx on my newly acquired 1986 Trans Am, 305 TPI, and found this green wire just laying near the distributor. I looked all over and can't find what it goes in. I looked on the forums here and couldn't find anything either. Anyone have a clue what thos single solid dark green wire is?
Looks like the egr temp switch connector, I just replaced mine on the GTA recently and that looks like it. As another poster asked is the check engine light on??
This might be a dumb question, So there's a place on the egr under the plenum to connect to.
The temperature diagnostic switch is essentially a temperature sensor. The sensor wire is routed along the passenger side fuel rail (IIRC). It looks like this:
The sensor screws into the base of the EGR valve. It tells the ECU when the EGR is opened by sensing the rise in temperature.
