Stock Foglight switch separate from Headlights?

Hey guys, I want to use the factory foglight switch and relay to power some aftermarket lights I have. I want to be able to turn on the fog lights on independently from the headlights.
Has anyone done that? I tried splicing the black and grey wires to constant 12v (like it had when the headlights were on), and the switch did nothing. One of the lines had 12v, but one of the lines were like 10v. What's up with that?

Help would be so appreciated! Thanks!

Now , bear in mind I'm no artist , but if you rewire the circuit to what I've (crudely) drawn you will have what your looking for . The 5 amp fuse with the * needs to be added by you and connected to any handy always on +12V source . Done this way you'll have your AUX lights that will run regardless of the headlights or even the key being on . Personally I'd use a new relay when it gets wired , and solder and shrink wrap all connections .

Your Welcome , I'm happy to have been able to help you .

Of course , it goes without saying that since you followed my diagram and produced the desired result , you must have some decent electrical skills yourself .
All you really needed was the diagram , the success is all yours !
