Fixing Speedometer & Tachometer After Engine Harness Replacement

There is a tech article about this but one part is unclear to me. Are the wires removed from the VSS buffer box and inserted into the ecm connector or what is the connection process?

The link doesn’t work, if you went from tbi to the 730 ecm you can use the Vss buffer with reprogramming so the 730 input is optical. Or wire it directly from the Vss pin b9 purple b10 yellow wire. The output to the cluster gets moved over from the buffer to pin b11.
if you went tpi maf leave the Vss buffer inplace and hook the 2k ppm wire to pin a 10.

Pretty sure he's saying unplug the VSS buffer box and extend the wires from the VSS buffer box plug to the ECM.

To Tuned Performance
Do you agree with this?To get the speedometer and cruise control to work on a 92 TBI car converted to a 1227730 ecu (or 1227749):
-remove the VSS buffer
-connect pin 5 from the VSS buffer harness connector to C1 on the 7730ecu
-connect pin 6 from the VSS buffer harness connector to B11 on the 7730

The wires from C1 and B11 go to the C207 connector and connect to NOTHING, so I cut the wires at the C207 so I didn’t have to extend them to connect to the VSS buffer connector

C1 goes to cruise control on the 730
B11 to the instrument panel
I believe the Vss buffer has letters on it not numbers.
I think you have it correct
