km to mi dasn conversion. Need help.

What's up, guys! I just picked up a 1991 GTA. The car is originally from Canada and comes with a km dash. I want to swamp it out for a mi dash, which will also update the temp gauges. What is the process for this? I've spent an hour searching around with no luck.

Remove the entire metric cluster. Install a US cluster. Fin.

Wouldn't expect any of the senders to be different, but I'm not going to dig in the parts book to check.

I don't see why not. It already points to the correct mph, it's just in smaller numbers and km/h is in larger numbers so I would think it would be a straight swap.

It is. I've done this myself. Just swap the entire cluster to an mph version and thats it. Just make sure the cluster is from a V8 and has the same tach as you have or you have to swap in your tach from your cluster to the new one. V6 cars have a different tach and a different oil pressure gage. The rest is fully interchageable, but the speedo on V6 cars is just a 120 mph version, but it works.

This is great news! Is there a proper way to adjust the millage in the replacement unit to match what my car has now? My car only has 88k km which is about 55k miles.

You have to disassemble the speedo completely, after that you can adjust the mileage by hand carefully.
