Need help wiring my alternator exciter wire
Hey there all! I have a 1987 Camarp sport with a 1991 305 motor in it and it is carbed, I was having problems with my radiator fan so I wired it with a fuse and ran it to a switch, I know the alternator exciter wire runs into the fan fuse and was wondering how I should run the exciter wire for the alternator now that I’m running my fan on a indempendent switch, I have a 5 watt 50 ohm resistor that I’m ready to wire in, I’m wondering what my best route would be for getting the 12v switched power any suggestion? Could I run it to the original fan fuse to the fuse block with the resistor added and then run the other side of the fuse to say the ignition cylinder?

You should be running a relay and a circuit breaker for the fan switch. Shouldn't have anything to do with the alternator wire...
