IAC valve issues
hello everyone, I've been having this problem with my idle air control valve and its driving me crazy because im sure the fix is something simple but here it is. The car was running fine and would fire up no problem until the other day when I decided to change the IAC since it was old a crusty. After taking out the old one, I put in the new valve, put the car in "run" but didn't crank it, unplugged the male connector, turned the car off, pulled out the keys, plugged it back in, went back into the car to start it up and it fired once and then shut off almost instantly . It hasnt ran for more than second since. Am i missing something. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. The car is 1988 iroc z28 with a 350 tpi and 700r4.
I don't know if this makes a difference but the old IAC's nozzle was a screw in screw out mechanism and the new on can be pushed in and out,

You have to set it properly and not just stick it in there. If you are reading this scroll up on the page to that reddish bar with topics on it. Go click on How-tos and select the article on IAC and TPS settings. Theres a whole bunch of goos info in there. You may enjoy reading a bunch of them. Have fun

Yep, 100% you got the wrong one.
There is a lot of bad cataloging of parts. You need the one you cannot move in and out on your own.
So many wrong applications on the websites. I just put the one below in. Works perfect. All you do is put it in, start the car and let the ECM figure the idle for a minute or two. New ones come fully retracted so there is no need to do a anything to it before install.
This is the one you need.
