New Engine, new harness and new ip
Hey guys, I'm currently in the works of "updating" an 88 Iroc with the following mentioned in the thread. Before, I dig into details on whats going in the car I'll let you guys know what I'm workin with currently in the car:
1. Car was a stick but didn't come with transmission so swapping my 700r4 in along with pedals.
2. Car fuse block is mangled from previous owner, plan to rip out but dont know how and replace with a new Painless fuse block.
3. No engine harness to worry about but I'm not sure about the wiper motor controls and heat/air controls, appear to be there but dont know what they are connected to.
4. Car's internal accessories consisted of power windows and manual mirrors but mirrors are messed up and I have a pair of doors with power mirrors that are going on instead. Is this option available on the harness if they arent used?
5. I have my original 85 that is the donor vehicle with wiring harnesses but dont want to pull them if I dont have since I've already purchased a brand new fuse block.
Now the items that are being put on the vehicles that I could use some insight on are the following: edelbrock pro-flo 4 system with ECU and tablet, Painless customizable 28 circuit harness and a digital dakota instrument panel with its own CPU and these units have to communicate with each other for certain functions like oil pressure, fuel tank and few other things. I know that there are things that I have to splice onto units to get them to work like lights, fuel tank, and interior accessories to name a few, but my concern is the removal of the dash to get to the harness to decipher the wires for splicing. If anyone can help me out or point me in the direction of some helpful threads much will be appreciated.
Thanks guys in advance.
