I Need some wiring help

In my 1990 Bandit II Edition Firebird I have this wire that runs from a button under the dash into this purple wire in the wiring harness in the engine bay. The other side of the wire on the button isn’t connected currently and I have no idea what it’s for. What is the big purple wire for? And what might the button be for?

Re: I Need some wiring help

That fat purple is the starter solenoid. So the button is probably an alternative to the key for starting.

Could it be possible that it’s a kill switch then? Where do you think the other end would go into?

No. It is a start switch.

The other wire no doubt went to battery somehow. Doesn't matter though; it is the trash. Get rid of it so it doesn't cause you any trouble.
