C100 Purple wire
C100 Purple wire
I am getting around to doing the wiring on my ls swap 92 camaro rs originally a 5spd v6 car. I have used some pinouts to determine what
I need as far as the c100 connector. I am trying to test the harness but I am running into a problem. I hook up the two red wires located at A4 and G5 to the positive terminal of the battery. I have also hooked the black and white wire located at C7 to ground(I believe this is a ground correct?). Now I am getting power to the pink wire when the ignition is on which I believe to be correct. My problem is the purple starter wire at B4 has power when the key is on and cranking. This does not make sense to me. If I unplug the clutch switch I get power at the green wire when cranking like I should but the purple wire already has power when the key is on. So some how I am getting power to the purple wire before the clutch switch. Why is this? The car did run before the swap. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: C100 Purple wire
I have messed with it some more and have found that the large purple wire is being powered at the crk fuse by the purple with white stripe wire. According to some diagrams this white and purple wire goes to the energy reserve module and the ecm. The ecm is disconnected so the energy reserve module must be providing the wire power in the run position. Why could this be?

The white wire is your tach.
The DRM and the starter circuit shouldn't even share anything, so I don't think that could be your problem.
The starter circuit runs through the ignition switch at the base of the steering column. It sounds like the switch is out of alignment or is internally jumped to the other circuits. They do go bad, but I don't know what the failure usually is. I would start there

Re: C100 Purple wire
Thanks for the reply scooter, I think I know which wire is the tac coming from the c100. I was talking about the purple wire with white stripe that is at the fuse block along with the purple solenoid wire at the crk fuse. If I take out the 3 amp crk fuse the purple solenoid wire works as should but with the fuse in it is getting power in the run and crank position. That leads me to believe that the ignition switch is fine. Any more suggestions?

Here are the diagrams I have been looking at. After the clutch switch the large purple wire splits to the crk fuse and to the c100 connector. The purple w/ white stripe wire that is also going into the crk fuse is providing power to my solenoid wire. When I pull that crk fuse my solenoid wire works as it should.
