Engine: 2.8l multiport FI
Transmission: 4 speed with OD
Car shuts off abruptly
I have an 87 sport coupe with a v6 and I went to drive it for the first time since I bought it and it drove just fine, but one I hit 2nd gear I had many issues. First of all if I put my foot to the floor, it has no guts in 2nd and everything except headlights and and cluster lights shut off. The engine didn’t sound starved , it just shuts off. My blinker worked great before, now they don’t work at all and every time I go to start it up again it takes longer and longer to start

That's a lot to unpack and are generally unrelated. I'd recommend cleaning and/or repairing grounds and battery cables/terminals.
